Sea Horse Stables is a full service show barn competing in all three rings locally and recognized across the country. Some of our shows include; HITS Saugerties, Devon, Kentucky & WEF. We specialize in pairing successful partnerships through our training staff and customized programs for horses and riders to achieve their goals. We are also well versed in rehabilitation and lay up care & the development of young horses.


Kristen Abbatiello-Owner

A lifelong equestrian and accomplished "A" circuit rider, Kristen has made a name for herself and trained in all disciplines of competition: pony club, hunters, jumpers, equitation, and dressage. Kristen was educated by renowned professionals: Robert Hoskins, Patrick Rice, Leslie Burr Howard and Timmy Kees. As a Junior Kristen competeted at the Medal, Maclay, and USET finals, Devon, The National Horse Show, Junior Hunter Finals and has earned her Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals for winning 20 USET classes.  While still in college Kristen co-founded and coached the Fairfield University Equestrian Team, and was a member of the United States IIEA Nations Cup team in Berne, Switzerland, Budapest, Hungry and at the World Championships in Ankum, Germany. Kristen created the modern Horsemanship Curriculum for the historic New Canaan Mounted Troop and in 2002 received the America's Promise Award for being a Role Model for Youth in Equestrian Sports. She has received the FW-PHA's Trainer of the Year Award for training the Best Equitation Rider, Best Hunter Rider and Best Medal Rider.  Kristen is experienced in educating green horses and equine rehabilation.  Full resume and references available upon request.

Sarah Booth


Sarah began her riding with Emerson Burr at the Fairfield County Hunt Club. In her college years, she was president of the Fairfield IHSA team where she met Kristen Abbatiello and shortly after became a client riding in the Equitation and High Adult Jumpers. She now comes to us as Barn Manager with a strong background in rehabs & performance horse maintenance.  

Barb Tarpey


 With more than 25 years of riding and showing experience in equitation and hunter divisions, Barb graduated from Marist College in Poughkeepsie, NY where she competed for 4 years as an Open level rider on their Equestrian Team. She served as both Captain and President her junior and senior years. Barb is also educated and trained in "centered riding" techniques.  

Kristofor Parker


Kris began his riding career at age 7 in upstate NY competing in Hunters & Equitation. In 2009, he became a working student for Julie Young of Silver Bay Stables in Petaluma, CA where he competed in the Equitation & Medal classes. Since moving to the NYC area, he has worked his way up from developing lesson programs to A circuit professional. His experience extends from walk trot beginners to top level circuit performance. 

Corrie Collins


Beginning with 4-H programs and working her way up, Corrie began her riding career with Cindy Mooney competing in hunt seat & eventing. She eventually, took a barn managing job in South Carolina. After moving back to the area, she worked at Twin Bays Stables & Salko Farm, teaching beginner through advanced. Corrie has experience in daily management of care and running successful lesson programs
